Dewberry is currently seeking a Coastal Project Manager for our Fairfax, VA or our Jacksonville, FL office. The candidate will lead coastal engineering and mapping projects, including coastal flood hazard, risk analysis and resiliency projects. Candidates should have knowledge of wave mechanics, storm surge, and/or storm induced erosion analyses, as well as a general understanding of coastal flooding methodologies. In addition to a strong technical background in coastal modeling and/or flood mapping, the candidate must have proven ability in managing client relationships, mentoring junior staff, controlling project cost and schedule performance, and preparing proposals and cost estimates. Professional registration (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

  • Possession of a bachelor's degree in civil or environmental engineering, with an emphasis on coastal processes, or in coastal sciences is required. An advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10-plus years' experience in coastal studies and/or engineering projects, with 5-plus years' experience in project management is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of the National Flood Insurance Program and/or FEMA's Risk MAP program preferred.

Travel

Occasional travel is required.
