DCS Corporation is recruiting an experienced Laboratory Operations Manager to support U.S. Army research objectives at the Adelphi Laboratory Center (ALC), in Adelphi, Maryland under the Battlefield Connected, Cumulative, and Convergent Support Services (BC3SS) - Business Laboratory Scientific Technical (BLAST) Support Services contract. The sponsor, ARL Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate (SEDD), conducts basic research, applied research, and analyses as related to sensors and electron devices, exploring new concepts as well as improvements to existing systems.

This position is contingent upon Program Award.

Essential Job Functions:

The successful candidate will:

Possess an understanding and working knowledge of the regulatory requirements specific to the lab and ensure all users are in compliance with those standards

Review research protocols of internal and external research groups in an effort to stay abreast as to what research projects are occurring in the lab at any given time

Update and maintain the Lab Safety Plan/Manual and the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) Manual

Oversee laboratory safety and security to ensure that the laboratory remains in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. In cases where non-compliance is found, document the instances as well as how they were abated.

Manage and update Chemical inventories and/or Risk Group Agent inventories

Communicate and enforce laboratory safety rules to internal and external researchers working in the lab

Ensure all users of the lab are wearing the appropriate Personnel Protection Equipment (PPE)

Required Skills:

Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. citizenship is required.

DoD Active Secret clearance

Minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in managing labs/facilities or a comparable job description

Experience in equipment calibration, and preventative maintenance

Strong planning, organizational, and analytical skills

Excellent knowledge of management best practices and standards

Proficient in MS Office products

Excellent written and oral communication skills
