The George Mason University Honors College invites applications for a Experiential Learning Coordinator for a 12 month term. In order to strengthen our partnerships with organizations in the public, private, and non-profit sectors, and to enhance and expand experiential learning opportunities for Honors College students, the Honors College seeks to hire an Experiential Learning Coordinator (ELC).

Responsibilities The ELC will be responsible for teaching two courses per semester in the Honors College curriculum including courses that are tied to the Honors College partnerships with the non-profit and for-profit communities. The ELC will also advise students on opportunities for community-, service- and project-based learning, and coordinate with the Honors College Curriculum Committee to revise and implement community-based and problem-based learning curriculum.

The ELC's administrative duties will include developing and sustaining external partnerships that create opportunities for experiential learning; supporting faculty who collaborate with community partners in HNRS courses; publicizing (to students, faculty, & partners) opportunities for experiential learning; coordinating with the Director of Data Analytics and Assessment to document and assess ongoing partnerships; and collaborating with experiential initiatives from other units at Mason, including SAIL, the University's Director of Civic Engagement, University Advancement, and University Career Services.

The general duties of all Honors College staff include working with the staff of the Honors College to develop the quality and reputation of all services and programs under its auspices, supporting the recruitment of students to the Honors College, and attending Honors College staff and committee meetings & participate in staff development.

Required Qualifications: Master's Degree Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with first generation and/or underrepresented students 2-3 years of experience working in a higher education 2-3 years of project management and/or coordination experience

Preferred Qualifications: PhD Experience working with corporate and/or non-profit partners Experience teaching Community-Based Research Methods and/or Problem-Based Learning
