Energize your career at Exelon!?*SPECIAL POSTING NOTES:- Following employment, new hires will be subject to successfully pass all required customer and governmental background requirements as to be able to obtain access to company facilities (eg NSA, Fort Meade, CSX, etc.).PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES- Performs the following construction functions under the guidance of a Transmission Crew Leader or alternate.- Climbs and works from steel towers and wood pole structures and microwave towers.- Installs, maintains and inspects transmission facilities microwave and cellular phone sites.- Provides inspection and/or safety watchman services of contractor personnel working on all company and cellular equipment.- Works from manlifts, platforms, towers and conductors over 100 feet high.- Works in confined space manholes and pump houses.- Tests and grounds transmission and substation equipment up to 500kV.- Performs construction surveying to establish lines and grades and utilizes various electrical instruments.- Drives cars and trucks#CD# operates various equipment including backhoes, condor lifts, trenchers, and bulldozers.- Installs protective devices on live distribution feeders in conjunction with line pulling operations.- Performs Crew Leader or Job Supervisor duties during Crew Leader absence.- Provides assistance to Crew Leader in on job training of new employees and contractors- Note: Is required to job site report and work during emergencies, including distribution.- Works in all weather conditions.POSITION SPECIFICATIONSMinimum:- Demonstrated ability in the skills necessary to install and maintain overhead, underground transmission facilities, microwave and cellular phone sites.- Ability to operate power tools, equipment, drive trucks.- Valid drivers license and the ability to meet Company driving standards.- Ability to obtain appropriate Commercial Drivers License, Class A, where applicable.- Satisfactory completion of the Construction and Skilled Trades Test Battery.- Ability to work from engineering drawings, sketches and construction standards.- Qualified to hold all applicable permits relating to BGE permit and tagging procedures.- Successful completion of company confined space training.- Over four years related work experience or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience and completion of training as a Transmission Line Mechanic.
