Summary

This position is part of the The John F Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. The incumbent will be responsible for serving as the system administrator of the Kennedy Center's Computerized Maintenance Software Systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as the system administrator of the Kennedy Center's Computerized Maintenance Management Software systems (CMMS) software application.
  • Be an expert resource on the use, deployment, and integration of these systems and applies their knowledge to define, record, analyze, and report on work processes, preventative maintenance, and service work requests.
  • Acts as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) overseeing the multi-year CMMS maintenance and support contract.
  • Acts as a COR on assigned projects and service contracts based on program needs. Prepares solicitation packages that include drawings of the affected areas involved, technical specifications and changes required.
  • Reviews and analyzes project progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon scope, schedule, and cost. Provides status reports to leadership.
  • Analyzes CMMS data to include departmental workload and workflow processes.
  • Analyzes and evaluates data records of equipment and system conditions in order to identify trends that reveal operating inefficiencies.
  • Makes recommendations on workforce requirements and position management based on findings.
  • Prepares management reports and conducts briefings in support of the findings and recommendations.

Qualifications

At the GS-13 level, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:

One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that is in or directly related to the line of work of this position and has equipped you with the knowledge and competencies to successfully perform the duties of this position. More specifically, this requirement involves experience in: performing oversight of a Computerized Maintenance Management Software system (CMMS); providing software support to an audience of widely varying technical aptitude and abilities; applying knowledge to asses and report on work processes, preventative maintenance programs, and facility service requests; acting as a Contracting Officer's Representative overseeing facilities service contracts and repair projects; preparing Request for Proposal documents for complex facilities construction and repair projects to include Scope of Work, Independent Government Estimates and technical specifications; analyzing facility systems operational data and preparing reports of findings for management; developing preventive maintenance programs for a wide range of building systems; advanced level experience working with spreadsheet and database development software; and working in a fast paced environment where priorities can shift unexpectedly.

TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b).

Advancement to positions up to GS-5: Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to the GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest non temporary competitive appointment.

A written test is not required.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
