Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Project Manager (Information Technology) for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of specified projects for Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA).
  • Define project scope, requirements, risks, and deliverables.
  • Provide in depth scheduling and planning using various project management tools.
  • Identify complex project issues, risks, or problems and make recommendations for resolutions and improvements.
  • Develop timely and executable plans of action for assigned projects.

  • Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.
  • Proof of U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required.
  • Two year trial or probationary period may be required.
  • Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.
  • This position requires you to submit a Public Financial Disclosure Report (OGE 278) or a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain Contracting Officer Representative (COR) certification within 6 months of appointment.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) certification within 12 months of appointment.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain Defense Acquisition University (DAU) Program Management certification within 24 months of appointment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.

For the GS-12 Grade Level:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes directing or managing organizational projects; assisting with the preparation of contracts and budgets for assigned projects; and tracking project schedules or milestones. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

For the GS-13 Grade Level:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience which includes planning, designing, and managing organizational projects; developing project milestones or schedules; and preparing or administering contracts and budgets for assigned projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
