  • Maintains and uses program data/systems/ databases to provide timely and up-to-date program information and to help program managers identify trends, deficiencies and accomplishments related to assigned programs.
  • Performs a variety of administrative and management support operations in a timely and organized fashion.

  • GPA: Cumulative GPA of 2.5 - must maintain at least a 2.5 GPA throughout the entire internship appointment.
  • PATHWAYS AGREEMENT: You will be required to sign a Pathways Internship Program Participant Agreement
  • ENROLLMENT REQUIREMENT: You must be enrolled at least half time at a qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate at least half-time
  • PROOF OF ENROLLMENT: You must furnish course registration information at the start of each school term; and provide verification of academic status (transcript) at the end of each academic term.
  • STUDENT STATUS: You must maintain status as a current student while on this appointment.
  • WORK SCHEDULES: Interns may work full-time during the summer and flexible part-time work schedules during the school year (based on agency needs) while continuing their education.
  • The anticipated start date of this position is September 2019. You must meet the definition of "student" on and after this date to be eligible for hire.


Qualifications

All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying education must have been obtained from an accredited college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

In order to qualify for this position at the grade SK-4 level you must meet the definition of a student and possess at least one of the following:
  • 1 year of general experience with progressively responsible clerical, office, or other work that indicates ability to acquire the particular knowledge and skills needed to perform the duties of the position to be filled.
  • Successfully completed two years of education above the high school level.
  • I possess a combination of post-high school education and general experience, as described above, which meets 100% of the qualifications requirement.

    Employees hired under the Pathways Programs on appointments for 90 days or more are eligible to earn annual and sick leave. After one year of continuous service, Pathways employees are eligible to enroll in the health benefits program at full cost.

    Selectees for this position are ineligible for life insurance, retirement (including the Thrift Savings Plan), and long term care insurance.

    As a federal employee, selectees are eligible to receive a transit subsidy each month to compensate you for your travel to and from work via certain types of public transportation.

    Converting to the Competitive Service: As part of the Pathways Internship Program, the appointment may be extended until the selectee's educational program requirements have been completed.
