Responsibilities

As a Financial Operations Analyst, you will:
-Review and analyze financial reports and accounting data from various systems. Propose changes to systems operations that improve data reporting requirements.
-Responsible for input and reliability of output data based on knowledge of the operations included as well as the programming of systems data.
-Research information needed to establish new policies, systems, and procedures and or to make difficult program decisions. Data is obtained from a variety of systems and sources throughout HUD, and from the Department of Treasury and OMB.

The Office of Housing provides vital public services through its nationally administered programs. It oversees the Federal Housing Administration (FHA) , the largest mortgage insurer in the world, and regulates important parts of the housing industry. The Office of Housing also helps ensure consumers can access housing counseling and provides affordable rental housing through its Multifamily housing program. The Office of Housing is committed to helping all Americans obtain safe, decent affordable housing.

The DAS for Finance and Budget is responsible for the integrity of all Housing-FHA accounting records, the preparation of timely and accurate financial and management reports on all FHA activities. These positions are located in the DAS for Finance and Budget's Office of Financial Services. This Office's primary responsibilities include providing training and customer assistance to thousands of FHA-approved mortgagees; annually billing and collecting billions of dollars of mortgage insurance premiums from mortgagees; maintaining the financial records for millions of active and terminated FHA-insured loans; and annually paying billions of dollars in claims for insurance benefits to mortgagees.

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.

Specialized Experience:

For the GS-11, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-9grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Applying financial management principles, concepts and techniques to analyze and evaluate program data and financial documents; AND
-Preparing servicing or accounting reports on programs for management; AND
-Providing financial-related customer service to external clients; AND
-Utilizing a variety of specialized information and database management applications and formats, as well as standard computer software; AND
-Conducting studies to evaluate programs and systems and make recommendations for improvement.

OR A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or an LL.M., in a related field.

OR You may qualify by a combination of experience and education. Options for qualifying based on a combination will be identified in the online questions.

For the GS-9, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes:
-Applying financial management principles, concepts and techniques to analyze and evaluate program data and financial documents; AND
-Preparing servicing or accounting reports on programs for management; AND
-Providing financial-related customer service to external clients; AND
-Utilizing a variety of specialized information and database management applications and formats, as well as standard computer software.

OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D in a related field. (No Answer)
