Senior Linux Systems Administrator needed for a 5 month contract opportunity with Yoh's client located in Baltimore, MD.The Big Picture The Network / Linux Systems Administrator maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer/network environment in a data center environment. Candidates can work from home but must be within driving distance of Baltimore for onsite meetings/support. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup and recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards related to the use of computing resources. Ancillary duties may include managing user, administrator and system accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installation and management of system wide software and managing storage. Top Skills You Should Possess: A minimum 8 years of experience in Unix or Linux Systems Administration working with customers in technical operations or engineering Requires a high level of expertise in multiple system environments. Expert knowledge of various system and network operating technologies (RedHat, CentOS, PaloAlto and Cisco) Experience with managing enterprise class virtualization software (oVirt, ESXi) Experience with RedHat Package Manager (RPM), Yum, Git, Docker containers, Foreman, Ansible, and Jenkins Experience with storage technologies such as storage area network or network-attached storage?(CEPH, IBM, NFS) What You'll Be Doing: Supports client's manufacturing and maintain customer inventories and ERP/CRM related information and workflows? Apply technical skills and experience in managing Linux servers and supporting highly skilled engineers working with advanced programming languages and algorithms? Provide planning, coordination, and implementation of server installations, upgrades, routine maintenance and vendor supplied patches in accordance with established policies and procedures? Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed? Serve as a contact for outages and communicate the status of the outage to management? Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, installation qualifications, and documentation adhering to industry best practices? Monitor and tune systems to achieve optimum performance levels; provide performance statistics and reports? Define and perform system backup and recovery procedures; participate in development, testing, and implementation of business continuity and disaster recovery plans? Works under only general direction and independently determines and develops approach to solutions? Provides support to users and troubleshoots/resolves problems Manages user identity management, system entitlements and PKI deployments What You Need to Bring to the Table: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.
