Job Information YMCA of Greater Seattle Alive and Free Outreach Supervisor (Program Director I) in Seattle, Washington Overview Job Summary The YMCA's Alive and Free Outreach Supervisor supports the ongoing excellent performance of the Alive & Free Outreach Team by supervising Outreach Workers and providing oversight of the quality of service to youth and community partners. Provides direction to Outreach Workers on their day-to-day activities with youth clients and during response to incidents of community violence. Outreach Workers require a high degree of supervisory oversight based on the nature of their work (field-based engagement in high-risk locations), the demographic of their clientele (youth who are likely to be victims or perpetrators of violence), and the unique qualifications of Outreach Workers (individuals who have had personal experience with gangs, violence and the criminal justice system). A successful Outreach Supervisor will have the ability to support the initial and ongoing distinctive professional development needs of their staff team given these variables. Responsibilities * Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff. * Ensure Outreach Workers effectively locate, engage, assess, support and exit youth within contractually required timeframes. * Provide regular office and field supervision to monitor, support and coach Outreach Workers to high performance. * Orient new team members to the expectations of the position, including use of logic model and leveling system, showing locations of community locations where youth gather and demonstrating appropriate interaction with youth on the street. * Observe and track community violence, tension and conflicts. Communicate information in real time to Program Director, appropriate safety agencies, community partners, and Outreach Team. * Be available during non-traditional work hours when necessary to respond to incidents of community violence. * Provide de-escalation and mediation as required or needed. * In collaboration with the Program Director, assists in reviewing and revising protocols and program policies as needed to ensure best practice standards. * Participate on the Quality Assurance team and takes an active role in continuous process improvement activities. * Collaborate with other program supervisors to build and maintain a positive, collaborative team culture across the Accelerator Y; provide leadership in trainings, weekly and monthly team meetings. * Participate on the Accelerator Y management team, attending monthly meetings and engaging with teammates regularly. * Provide leadership while staffingmajor community events, including participating in all pre-planning meetings, development of event procedures and protocol, and partner with Program Director and other Outreach Supervisors to manage outreach workers during community events. * Maintain positive, collaborative relationships with community partners and funders. * Provide training and presentations for community partners about Alive & Free. * Carry a small caseload of youth, as needed. * Other duties as assigned. Qualifications You should have: * Bachelor's degree in relevant program areaor equivalent education/experience. * Two years or more of related experience, with proven experience in training others. * One or more years of experience with staff and volunteer supervision, program development, budget management. * Experience and knowledge with youth behavior management and child abuse prevention. * Intermediate computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office suite. * Ability to visit sites and community organizations.
