About the Position:The Business Systems Analyst will support requirements development, implementation, integration, operation and updates/maintenance of finance business systems. The analyst will provide insight into financial metrics and data by creating reports, dashboards, and conducting analysis. They will be responsible for identifying opportunities for improving business processes and systems and bridging the needs of the business with the use of financial data and tools. Cross-functional partnership is a key element in this role as this individual will bring a financial perspective to operational support and planning. The Ideal candidate would have previous experience with a financial and accounting systems, with a proven track record with business process improvement.Location: Reston, VAResponsibilities: Work with key users within the finance department and through the organization to maintain and enhance the financial systems Translate business requirements to functional designs using analysis and design techniquesPlan, review and revise configurations and customizations of the financial systems as needed to meet the ever-changing needs of the business across the organizationSupport budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis across the organization during the annual budgeting and forecasting process Support end user requests for new saved searches, reports, KPI's, dashboards and analysisDefine, test, and implement business rules, workflows, reports and user roles to meet business requirementsIdentify, evaluate and recommend other key technologies required to support and improve the business processes centered within the eco-systemEnsure that business and non-business requirements have been met through testing and validationCompile, prepare and update documentations including, technical procedures documents, business requirements documents, functional designs, test scripts, test plans, and training materialsAssist vendors and Director with preparation of training documentation and provide user training on new system applicationsPartner with team members in bringing efficiencies to the monthly close process and improve upon existing billing system integrations, reporting needs, and budgeting cyclesHandle multiple priorities and complex tasks in a hyper growing work environmentMinimum Qualifications The candidate should be able to demonstrate (from prior experience or otherwise) their ability to learn a new business domain and technologies\application\systems both quickly and comprehensively.BS degree in information systems or similar; five to seven years of successful experience in business and system analysisUnderstanding of common industry standard business practices as related to Accounting and Finance (Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Invoicing and Budgeting)A demonstrated understanding of data, system architecture and application\system integration mechanismsExperience in supporting financial and budgeting systems is required; experience with Adaptive Insights, Concur and/or Netsuite a preferredAn analytical business background, problem-solving skills, process improvement, strategic thinking and high attention to detailProactive attitude, ability to work independently and a desire to continuously learn new skills and technologiesAbility to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, at all levels including vendors, peers, business stakeholders and management requiredExperience with Nonprofit accounting is a plusSome travel may be requiredCompensation and benefit package for this position will be competitively commensurate with the successful applicant's qualifications.
