The Cloud Automation Engineer will bring a Cloud Smart mindset to continuously innovate, improve, and evolve the Census Cloud Environments through automation. The range of projects include, but not limited to: automation of software deployments, infrastructure as code, containerization and orchestration, continuous integration and infrastructure automation. The Cloud Engineer will be able to adhere to the standards, but also work with other teams to recommend, develop, and deploy for the future needs of the organization. Ability to independently manage day to day activities with minimal supervision and be capable to escalate and drive issues to resolution when required is a must. Responsibilities: The range of projects include, but not limited to: automation of software deployments, infrastructure as code, containerization and orchestration, continuous integration and infrastructure automation The Cloud Engineer will be able to adhere to the standards, but also work with other teams to recommend, develop, and deploy for the future needs of the organization Ability to independently manage day to day activities with minimal supervision and be capable to escalate and drive issues to resolution when required is a must Qualifications: Required Technical Skills / Experience: A' Candidate must have the following knowledge, experience, and abilities: A' BachelorA cents € (TM) s Degree in a relevant major from an accredited college or university Must have 7+ years of continuous and progressive experience Languages listed in order of priority: Ruby; Python; Bash Tools: Cloudforms; Ansible; Puppet; Git; Jenkins Knowledge of AWS GovCloud / AWS CloudFormation, KMS, Config, CLI, S3 programmatic integration Solid background of RHEL7/6/5 Experience in managing Linux and/or systems with configuration management, such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, VMWare Experience with automated build pipelines, continuous integration, and continuous deployment with test automations frameworks Experience delivering infrastructure for distributed, scalable, secure, reliable software systems A' Preferred Skills: A' AWS certifications (eg. AWS Solutions Architect - Associate) Good understanding and use of IT Cloud concepts including architecture, security, serverless, monitoring, and networking Experience with any of the following: Microsoft AD and LDAP integration, Software Development Lifecycles/Methodologies like Agile, Terraform, DevOps/DevSecOps, at least one other Cloud platform (Azure, GCP, etc) A' Security Requirements: A' Candidate must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Public Trust Assessment
