Company DescriptionBroadcast Media CompanyDescriptionJob DescriptionA Broadcast Media Company is seeking a Senior Broadcast IT Engineer for a 3-6 months temp assignment.Position Title: Senior Broadcast IT EngineerReport to: Head of Broadcast SupportJob SummaryEnsuring that ON AIR programs as well as services provided by engineering facilities are broadcasted on time without interruption to the highest possible level of quality. Responsibilities include maintaining, installing, upgrading, monitoring, and repairing broadcast systems & facilities.Specific ResponsibilitiesInstall, maintain, modify, operate and repair broadcast and information technology equipment in all technical areas of a 24x7x365 news and production environment, including the latest multimedia technology.Work alongside others in the technical department; use a wide range of equipment and systems to ensure that programs are transmitted across different transmission centers at the correct times and to the highest standards of technical quality.Work in a variety of locations and situations. May carry out studio, set work, or post-production operations. May be involved in outside broadcasts, where sound and images are relayed live back to a studio or straight to the network.Work with a wide range of people including producers, studio managers, presenters and other technical staffPerform hardware/equipment/peripherals technical support (Install, configure, troubleshoot, maintenance and repair) for Transcoding\Encoding Systems, Quality Control solutions, accelerated file transfer solutions, AV communications for broadcast and VoIP solutions, Digital AV server recording and play out systems, Broadcast automation systems, Digital archiving systems and Tape libraries, , ON AIR graphics and creative systems, News room systems, Nonlinear editing system, Post production systems, Storage solutions & Media asset management systems.Perform remote troubleshooting and escalation of faults and complaints to the relevant Technology teams where required; track and ensure timely resolved.Act as mentor for a group of engineers and technicians as needed to develop and maintain Broadcast system issues for ON AIR transmission, news and programs editing, Ingest, etc.Ensure knowledge transfer to colleagues by setting knowledge base processes and documentation.Advise and coordinate work teams, answer complex questions, functioning as an expert resource, maintain assignment completion schedules. Perform the same and higher levels tasks as team.RequirementsQualifications:Bachelor Degree in Science with emphasis in Electrical, Electronics, Communications Engineering or related discipline.5+ years of professional experience in Broadcast IT Engineering and relevant Broadcast operation/maintenance in live broadcast environment.SkillsPresentation skillsTime management skillsTeamwork.Problem solving and decision making.Diagnostic and technical skills.Preferred Experience\On The Systems BelowAvid Postproduction systems, Newsroom systems , Nonlinear editing systems & recording and play out systems,..VPMS Arvato Media asset management system.Pebble Beach Broadcast automation system.Front Porch Digital (Diva) & IBM Digital archiving systems and Tape libraries.VizRT ON AIR graphics and creative system.KnowledgeKnowledge in broadcast infrastructure and understanding for Broadcast system cabling installation requirements.Knowledge in Television systems and theory, analog and digital communications and digital television transmission.Knowledge in complex technical drawings and reportsKnowledge in basic measurement and test instruments for Audio and Video signals.Knowledge of the Transcode\Encode techniques and strong knowledge about formats and Video compression concepts including MPEG-2/MPEG-4 and SD/HD /3G/4K.Knowledge of Networking and LAN infrastructure.OS knowledge: Windows, Linux & OSX.Additional InformationThe Hourly rate Depends on ExperienceJob Location
