About the Position: This position is located at the US Army Aviation Center Army Training Command 128th Aviation BDE 1-210th AVN Regiment, Fort Eustis, VA. Fort Eustis, VA is located in Newport News, between historic Williamsburg and Virginia Beach.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as Senior Tools and Parts Attendant receives, stores, requisitions, identifies, inventories, and issues full range of tools, special tools, test sets, and expendable items utilized by personnel and students with the Company.
  • Check equipment upon return for damage and maintenance needs and ensures that Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment are forwarded for maintenance and calibration according to established schedules or as otherwise deemed necessary.
  • Relocate stock based upon space available turnover, convenience of handling to consolidate like items, make room for new stock or to obtain more effective utilization of space.
  • Conduct inventories by physically counting items on hand and entering on inventory counting sheets, searching bins for missing items, and taking recounts as necessary.
  • Make determinations and recommendations as to whether damaged or inoperative tools, used or excess stock or parts should be salvaged, re binned and used without further repair or scrapped.

  • MODERATE TO HEAVY LIFTING - This position has a requirement to lift up to 60 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • TERM EMPLOYMENT - This is a Term position scheduled to last 12 months. A term position may be extended to a maximum of six years depending upon the needs of management.
  • SHIFT WORK - This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
  • SUITABILITY/FITNESS DETERMINATION - Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.

However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Tools and Parts Attendant without more than normal supervision to perform common tasks including deliver and pick-up equipment of various sizes and weights. I can perform equipment operations and maintenance to include the repairing, removing and installing of parts. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed

  • This position is a TERM position. It is a time limited appointment not to exceed 13 months and may be extended up to a maximum of six years. This position may be converted to a permanent, career or career-conditional appointment without further competition as long as all requirements are met. To be eligible for conversion, employee must complete at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service AND employee must have a current performance rating under such term appointment of at least fully successful or equivalent.
