Responsibilities

  • You will serve as supervisor for the NCR Region assigned Local Competency Workforce responsible for assigning work, approving time, travel, and awards, develop performance objectives and evaluation/rating. .
  • You will execute delegated Technical Authority for all processes, products, and services for delivery through the command and ensuring compliance with all legal and policy requirements.
  • You will create, develop and implement architecture and security processes and policy up to the service/agency level of the Department of Defense.
  • You will provide restoration of information systems by incorporating protection, detection, and reaction capabilities.
  • You will provide Information Assurance support to external customers such as security engineering, cyber security, risk management, and certification and accreditation.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Information Technology, Level I. You must achieve certification within 24 months of appointment.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722, Level Advance/Master within 6 months of appointment.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.


Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
* Leading teams in creating, developing, and implementing Information Technology architecture and security products and services;
* Monitoring Information Assurance security/systems certification and accreditation requirements, AND
* Conducting risk assessment, audits, reviews and vulnerability scans.

Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
1. Attention to Detail, IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include - Creating, developing and implementing architecture and security utilizing established processes and policies.
2. Customer Service, IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include - Providing Information Assurance support to customers such as security engineering, cyber security, risk management, and certification and accreditation.
3. Oral Communication, IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include - Advising and providing guidance in support of Information Technology/Information Assurance policies and procedures.
4. Problem Solving, IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include - Conducts risk assessment, audits, reviews and vulnerability to identify and restores information systems by incorporating protection, detection and reaction capabilities.

This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories. The pay schedule and pay band for all Administrative Specialist/Professional Positions will be NO-1/2/3/4/5/6.
