The position is located in the Office of Information Technology (OIT), Division of End User Support (DEUS). The duty location is Rockville, MD.

Responsibilities

IT Specialists (INFOSEC) are a mission critical occupation for HRSA. These positions are responsible for the analysis of system and/or security requirements, the development and implementation of mission critical applications for the agency's Information Technology operations.

As the Deputy Director, you exercise the full range of administrative and technical supervisory duties. In addition, you work with the Division Director to determine DEUS goals, objectives and management strategies.

Your major duties and responsibilities include:
  • Overseeing the efficient and effective delivery of a help desk support, desktop management, video, mobile devices, web conferencing, and telephone services to HRSA customers located in Headquarters and 10 Regional Offices.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing HRSA desktop, printer, and software standards and configurations.
  • Providing continuous diagnostics and mitigation security services for HRSA's desktops.
  • Conducting near and long-term planning to ensure the proper allocation of Division and OIT resources for supporting HRSA's IT users.
  • Performing budgeting and contract management for IT services.

To qualify for this position, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have IT-related information security experience in each of the four competencies listed below:

  • In addition, to meeting the four IT related competencies listed above, in order to qualify for this IT INFOSEC position at the GS-14 level, your resume must clearly demonstrate that you have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to at least the GS-13 level in the federal service. Examples of qualifying experience include the following types of tasks performed on a regular and recurring basis: supporting vulnerability management initiatives at an enterprise level and remediating those vulnerabilities; designing, implementing, and maintaining Widows X technologies in a mature environment; and gathering and utilizing metrics to forecast future service improvements and needs requirements, such as ServiceNow and Tableau.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; community; student; social). If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
