The Defense Travel System (DTS) Analyst will provide support to US Army Medical Research and Development Command (USAMRDC) Deputy Chief of Staff for Resource Management (DCSRM) travelers in terms of travel advice, travel document assistance, travel reference for points of contact, assistance in the identification and resolution of travel issues with authorizations and settlement vouchers, extract various Defense Travel System (DTS) reports, use the CITIBank tool to verify travel card charges, ready reference for travelers regarding Joint Travel Regulations (JTR) policies, and hands on assistance with deployment/redeployment authorizations and settlement vouchers, and support the Non-DTS Entry Agents functions.Specific Duties and Responsibilities Provide sound judgment and advice to travelers and Lead Defense Travel Administrators (LDTAs) in accurately completing various DTS travel or related documents following internal and external policies and procedures. Provide the traveler and LDTA with sufficient training and with points of contact necessary for the completion of various DTS travel or related documents required to maneuver in DTS and to complete travel authorization and settlement vouchers as addressed in applicable policies and procedures. Provide Training on the Command's Government Travel Card (GTC) Program. Provide subject matter expertise and support to Reviewing Officials and Approving Officials to identify and resolve travel authorization and settlement voucher processing problems encountered. Extract various DTS reports to ensure airfare is ticketed and documents are stamped "approved" prior to traveler departure date. Extract the following reports Unsubmitted Voucher, Departure, Airline Cancellation, Approved Status, and Unused Ticket Reports. Obtain view only accesses to the CITIBank tool to verify that the correct travel card charges have been included when preparing settlement vouchers. Assist in training and answering traveler questions regarding JTR policies as it relates to the claiming of reimbursable travel costs. Analyze, identify negative and positive trends, and provide findings to the DCSRM and Comptroller departments. Validate and input Lines of Accounting (LOAs) and Budget Labels when applicable in DTS. Review and Track all necessary documentation. Demonstrated proficiency in using Defense Travel System (DTS). Experience with technical support services such as troubleshooting, documentation development, and/or development of professional training/education.
