We are seeking an experienced Superintendent to assist with the planning and coordination of our construction jobs in Washington, DC and Arlington, VA.Responsibilities include: Overseeing onsite construction from start to finishSupervising, coordinating, and scheduling the activities of construction or temporary workersCommunicating with the project manager to ensure that the budget is followedOrganizing the workers and ensuring that they are performingProviding general inspection of the worker's performance and safetyCoordinating with government safety inspectors on the standard requirements of the siteOverseeing the performance of quality control and assurance programs.Following the project construction processSupervising the subcontractorsUpdating the project scheduleRequirements include: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience.10 years construction experience is required5 years supervisory experience is also requiredAdvanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost and quality control, engineering drawings and other documents.Ability to supervise and evaluate craft performanceMust have excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skillsKnowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applicationsMust be able to take direction well from others and prioritize responsibilities so that deadlines are metWe offer a competitive salary and potential performance bonuses.
