The Staff Accountant will be an integral part of the finance team and of the entire organization. In addition to performing regular accounting functions, the Staff Accountant will be required to work closely with the Operations Department on inventory control as well as with the Accounts Receivable department. The initial drive of this position will be to assist in the management of collections and work with the Accounts Receivable Manager to oversee the Accounts Receivable aging.The ideal candidate will be a hands-on professional who is comfortable working independently as well as on teams. The candidate will have a good attention for detail as well as the ability to see the 'big picture'.Job Description:Assist in the monthly close, including creating and entering journal entriesAssist in producing monthly internal financial statements Analyze variances and review accounting transactions for appropriate treatmentAssist with annual auditsAssist in maintaining fixed asset records and depreciation scheduleProvide support and coverage for AP, AR, Payroll and other accounting staff as necessaryManage the company credit card and employee expense reportsAssist with creation of annual budgetCreate spreadsheets to model various business scenariosPerform financial analysis to support special projects and company initiativesParticipate on cross-functional teamsIdentify and implement process improvementsRequired Experience:Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and procedures3+ years' experience with general ledger functions and the month-end close processExperience with creating financial statementsAbility to research, compile, analyze and interpret dataStrong analytical and organization skillsAdvanced spreadsheet modeling skillsThe candidate should be timely with respect to work and deadlines, should be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and will be able to switch tasks quickly as priorities change.3+ years' experience in manufacturing environment inclusive of product costing, bills of material, production routing, and inventory control. Ability to interact with senior management is required.Experience with Lansa ERP a plus.
