The Tahirih Justice Center, a national nonprofit organization that serves immigrant survivors of gender-based violence by providing free legal and social services, seeks a National Events Manager to oversee the coordination and successful execution of Tahirih's major fundraising events nationwide. The National Events Manager will work with national and local staff to ensure that Tahirih events meet budgetary and fundraising goals, are executed smoothly and efficiently, and successfully engage target audiences. This role requires substantial working knowledge and experience in events and project management. This individual must be highly organized, have excellent problem-solving skills, and be able to coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and external vendors. This position requires frequent travel. Key Areas of ResponsibilityProject & Process Management: Facilitate coordination among local and national fundraising staff to ensure that galas and other fundraising events (including at least four galas per year) meet expectations of brand consistency and quality nationwide. Ensure all signature events adhere to budget requirements (expense & revenue) and are meeting major project timeline milestones and deliverable deadlines. Develop, maintain, and effectively implement Tahirih-specific event processes that promote the efficiency, quality, and consistency of signature events nationwide. Lead the onboarding, training, and coaching of core event staff (Development Manager and Development Associate/Assistant) on event-related topics remotely and/or on-site, as needed. Provide event-related trouble-shooting remotely and/or on-site, as needed. Assist signature event staff in reviewing major vendor contracts prior to approval and execution, per Tahirih's contract approval process. Analyze event data, trends, and results (local & national).Internal Stakeholder & External Vendor Management: Work cross-functionally and interdepartmentally across Tahirih's national and local offices to gather input on and facilitate decision-making for event related processes, strategies, and outcomes.With a cross-office view, assess, document, and share best practices and learnings. Facilitate efficient coordination between event staff needs and National Communications Team responsibilities. Coordinate the cultivation and management of cross-office relationships specifically for signature fundraising events nationwide. Coordinate and manage relationships with vendors who serve multiple events (eg event management software & technology services) including RFP & contracting, quality control, invoicing, and day-to-day communications. Subject Matter Expert on Event Execution & Program Management: Provide market-driven expertise & guidance on executing programmatic elements of a large-scale fundraising event. Provide direction and messaging interpretation to ensure programs effectively communicate Tahirih's mission, brand, and identity in a manner that is accessible for broader audiences. Travel & Onsite Support: Travel 4-6 times per year to local offices to provide on-site support to ensure successful execution of event. (technology, program, stage management, fundraising, general logistics, etc.). Requirements5+ years of successful technical event experience such as event planning and production, execution, and/or stage management. Demonstrated project management skills that exhibit an ability to coordinate with different stakeholders.Knowledge of, and ability to use, computer systems for event and/or large-scale project management. Strong understanding of the immigrant experience and a demonstrated commitment to cultural humility. Other SkillsSolution oriented with the ability to proactively identify problems and opportunities using effective problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Creative thinker who works well on teams and under pressure. Highly organized with demonstrated attention to detail; able to meet competing deadlines and work on multiple events simultaneously. Strong customer service orientation, with experience in negotiating, and in effectively addressing and resolving stakeholder-related issues.
