This position is located in the Plumbing and Sheet Metal (PSM) shop, Office of Facilities Support, (OFS). The incumbent serves as an Assistant Supervisor to the Supervisor of the PSM shop. This position is responsible for all activities and equipment pertaining to plumbing and associated shop operations, in support of all BEP production and facilities related equipment.

Responsibilities

As a Plumber (Assistant Supervisor) , you will:

- Plan the work and assign personnel for the maintenance, repair, installation, construction, modification and/or demolition of plumbing systems which serve production and facilities operations.
- Perform periodic inspections to ensure work is performed safely, with a consistently high level of quality, and with customer requirements and service in mind.

- Work in conjunction with various craft personnel within OFS to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve plumbing related issues on production and facility related equipment.
- Communicate effectively at all levels, verbally and in writing.
- Work in conjunction with staff planners and Supervisors within OFS and Production Support to accomplish required tasks efficiently and effectively.

Position requires considerable walking, standing and climbing. There is occasional working in strained positions. Incumbent works from lifts, ladders and scaffolds. Incumbent should have good vision, no color blindness and good hearing.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation will be required for all new hires. The background investigation process conducted by the Bureau of Engraving and Printing is very thorough. - The facility typically shuts down annually between Christmas and New Year's Day. As such, all BEP employees must take leave for work days during the shutdown period.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A one year probationary period may be required.

If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three quality level categories, Gold, Silver, and Bronze depending on your responses to the online questions, regarding your experience, education, and training related to this position. A subject matter expert may be used in the evaluation. Your rating may be lowered if your responses to the online questions are not supported by the education and/or experience described in your application.
