Position Summary You are a trendsetting digital marketer eager to experiment with the latest tools and products to convert web and email traffic into meaningful action. Collaborating closely with the social media and multimedia specialists, the Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for developing and executing web and email campaigns to mobilize audiences of parents, professionals, policymakers, and funders/donors. You will also be responsible for creating, editing, proofreading, posting, and maintaining engaging content across multiple websites and microsites. Additionally, you will manage the Pardot marketing automation platform and work closely with the marketing, development, professional development, policy and parenting departments to ensure consistency of voice and quality control in email communications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Email Marketing:Creates and executes dynamic, data-driven, highly segmented email campaigns including drip marketing campaigns, Membership retention/reactivation campaigns, lifecycle emails, and engaging welcome seriesManages Salesforce CRM and Pardot marketing automation platforms, including creating email templates, segmented marketing lists and sign-up formsDocuments processes, A/B tests and measurable impact of digital marketing promotions; analyses resultsDevelops and maximizes use of editorial calendar, ensuring the organization's 10+ monthly external newsletters are well-coordinated and timedAssists cross-departmental end-users with email troubleshooting and formatting, using HTML and graphic design to ensure quality content that increases open rates, click-through rates and list growth Web Content:Develops an actionable content strategy, process, and timeline for use across multiple channels including, but not limited to web, email and mobileCollaborates closely with the social media specialist to develop coordinated campaigns and inform digital advertising strategyResponsible for content integrity across the organization's websites and microsites, including finding and fixing broken links, correcting misspellings and developing plan for adjusting reading level and tone to match audienceWorks creatively and collaboratively with internal clients to proactively create and revitalize new and existing contentDevelops Google Adwords campaigns, including the creation of ads, audience groups, and customized landing pagesOptimizes websites for SEO/SEM Internal Communications/Other:Cross-trained in technical implementation of social media, blog engagement, and other digital communications rolesCreates and provides reports on analytics and other digital metrics to departments and other stakeholdersTrains and assists staff publishing online content in creating a digital-first, engaging experienceServes as formatter and editor of internal staff newsletters to staff and board membersSupports HR with developing and formatting content for the HR Portal, internal email announcements, and professional development campaignsPerforms other duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the department. Skills and Experience3-5 years of experience in digital communications, digital marketing, social media management or related roleExperience managing a robust CRM or marketing automation software such as Salesforce, HubSpot or MarketoProven track record of managing effective and engaging digital marketing campaigns with measurable resultsProficiency with Google marketing products including AdWords, Analytics and Search ConsoleUnderstanding of and experience with social and digital media (Facebook, Twitter, blogging)Creativity and an "out of the box" approachStrong project management skillsContent creation and publications experience (digital, video and/or print)Knowledge of HTML and/or CSSSpanish fluency a plus Essential Qualities* Exercises independent discretion and judgement* Can work under deadline pressure while maintaining a high level of accuracy* Encourages and practices critical and strategic thinking* Collaboratively and creatively supports the work efforts of colleagues at all levels and in all areas of the organization EducationBachelor's degree in Journalism, Communications or related field. Physical RequirementsWhile performing the responsibilities of the job, the employee is frequently required to use finger dexterity as well as sufficient hand dexterity to use a computer keyboard and be capable of reading a computer screen. Also may need to remain seated for long periods of time, have the ability to perform repetitive motions, grasp objects, including a writing instrument, kneel, communicate verbally and hear well enough to detect nuances and receive detailed information. The employee may be required to walk, push or pull objects, bend, squat, reach, or stand. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision for preparing and analyzing data, transcribing, and expansive reading. Working ConditionsThe work conditions described here is representative of those an employee encounters while performing this job. Depending on work location, the incumbent will typically work indoors in a heated and air-conditioned office, with a mixture of natural, incandescent and fluorescent light with low to moderate noise levels or be subject to working conditions conducive to a home office. When travel is expected the incumbent will be exposed to outside environmental conditions during those times.
