Overview We are seeking an energetic, innovative and experienced Infrastructure Engineer to join a fast growing company that develops a wide range of software solutions. Successful candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a US Government-issued security clearance, therefore US Citizenship is required. In addition, all employees must pass a pre-employment drug screen. All of the work takes place in our cubicle-free environment, with no outsourced personnel or contractors. All team members are allowed to select their desired desktop platform (eg, Mac, Linux, or Windows) and given authority to administer their workstations. We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer with a strong background in Linux and networking to help us design, implement, and maintain software build engineering processes, product testing, and staging environments, and a Linux-based production infrastructure. How you'll make an impact You will be responsible for the creation, deployment, support, and maintenance of development environments You will monitor the health of the development infrastructure You will be responsible for software packaging and overseeing software development tools You will build software tools and configuration management code to support infrastructure provisioning You will help improve the default OS security posture About you You have at least 5 years of experience in a medium to large Linux based environment supporting development activities You have a positive attitude, strong work ethic, a technical passion, and a desire to learn You are comfortable in an Agile environment You have strong verbal and written communication/interpersonal skills Required Experience Configuration management and automation tools (eg, Puppet, Ansible, Salt, Chef, etc.) Continuous integration frameworks (eg, Jenkins) PXE booting tools such as simple PXE server, Foreman, or Cobbler Virtualization platforms (eg, VMWare) Python or Ruby software development Shell scripting (eg, bash, sed, awk, etc.) RPM packaging and package management Git source code management Preferred Skills Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have experience or familiarity with (any of) the following: Working knowledge of Linux internals (eg, systemd, SELinux, iptables, firewalld, etc.) Docker/LXC containers Vagrant development environments Build systems (eg, Make, Rake, Paver, Ant, Grunt, Gulp, etc.) Experience with monitoring tools (eg, Nagios, Splunk, etc.) Networking (primarily layers 1-4) protocols and standard tools (eg, tcpdump, traceroute, etc.) Web application development technologies (eg, Python, JavaScript, Ruby, Java, PHP, etc.) Apache PostgeSQL Asterisk AWS Cloud communications platforms Education The ideal candidate will have a BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or equivalent experience.
