HawkEye 360 (HE360) is currently seeking an AWS Architect/DevOps Engineer to join the Engineering Analytics team. The mission of the Engineering Analytics team is to develop algorithms and software to process and fuse raw data into HE360 products. The Analytics team is comprised of a mix of Data Scientists and Software Engineers that work together to develop novel and best of breed solutions for solving the hard problems of converting raw RF and geolocation results into more advanced data products that inform and enhance customers' mission and capabilities. The Engineering Analytics team works closely with the Product Management and Processing teams to develop scalable, secure, and flexible software architectures and capabilities. The DevOps Engineer will support the development and deployment of the company's next-generation data analytics capabilities by working with the team to turn research ideas into deployed production capabilities. The Engineer will report to the Director of Analytics, and interface with directors and engineers on the signal processing, space, operations, and product teams. We'll Expect You To . Support the development deployment of geospatial algorithms and analyses to exploit and analyze HE360 collected data combined with procured third-party datasets. Support the design and development of the HE360 Analytics deployment process and procedures. Ensure integrity and security of HE360 systems and data. Contribute as a senior member of the Analytics team to support the deployment of the HE360 geolocation and analytics architecture and implementation. Collaborate across teams to understand requirements, use cases, and functionality and incorporate this information into the HE360 architecture and implementation. Evaluate and integrate open-source tools to enhance the HE360 data management, visualization, and fusion capabilities. Recommend improvements to existing software programs as necessary. Support development of tests at the unit, component, and system level, forming a continuous integration pipeline that prevents regressions as we continually enhance our software. You'll Need to Have Demonstrated experience designing and deploying multi-tier applications on AWS or comparable cloud platforms using Infrastructure-as-code techniques, ie CloudFormation. Demonstrated experience applying AWS security best practices in all phases of the application lifecycle. Demonstrated experience with AWS services: EC2, ECS, EMR, RDS, and ALB. Experience with Docker and containerized applications. Experience implementing CI/CD workflows with Jenkins, Gradle, Docker, etc.. Experience with Linux system administration. Agile Software Development Lifecycle experience. 10+ years professional experience working and leading software teams. MS or BS in Computer Science or related engineering field. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Adeptness at learning and applying new technologies and solving new problemsWe'd Like to See Experience immutable infrastructure design and principles. Knowledge and experience deploying Python applications and Java applications. Experience with Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or other comparable configuration management tools. Networking and Identity Management fundamentalsCultural Fit Ability to work in a small and fast-paced environment. Ability to work well with all levels of company disciplines (ie Legal, HR, etc.).
