Job Summary As a member of the Corporate Financial Strategy & Analysis ("CFSA") organization the Senior Financial Analyst will provide financial analysis and research support for the Director(s), CFSA, enabling senior finance executives within groups such as Treasury, Investor Relations, Project Finance, Mergers & Acquisition and Discipline Finance Business Partners to make business decisions that drive overall business results and shareholder value. She / he will assume responsibility for the research and analysis of industry competitors and related metrics to include the preparation of quarterly / annual reports and summaries. CFSA consists of three primary functions (Corporate Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Strategy & Governance and Business Analysis) and it is expected that the Senior Financial Analyst would provide centralized research and analytical support across these areas in support of their various objectives. Recurring responsibilities would include the preparation of periodic foreign exchange, interest rate and inflation forecasts, compilation of materials for quarterly Board of Director reports, accumulation of market and industry data for use in annual hurdle rate update process amongst other similar requests. EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS * Perform market research and competitor analysis. * Monitor worldwide macro-economic trends with perspective towards implications to the hospitality industry. * Conduct regular industry research, analyze key trends and opportunities and provide results to CFSA key stakeholders in support of broader team processes and goals. * Obtain and seek out internal company financial results and discipline feedback in support of CFSA's quarterly investor relation responsibilities. * Provide analytical and process support, as required, for key company financial planning processes to include the annual long-range plan and annual budget. * Interpret company performance to address identified business challenges and improvement opportunities. * Support Treasury and Investor Relations in their ongoing responsibilities, such as quarterly earnings releases, equity analyst conferences, and rating agency presentations. * Provide research and financial support to the responsible CFSA lead in support of the annual post-audit process for prior investments. * Support the development of senior executive presentations to MI's Board of Directors and other key stakeholders. * Assist in the preparation of company overviews to senior management as it pertains to establishing a preliminary view of potential merger& acquisition targets. * Support the review of the company's valuation methodology and conduct annual update of pro forma assumptions. CANDIDATE PROFILE Key Talents and Experience * Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience including complex data analysis and financial modeling * Solid analytical skills with an understanding of technical corporate finance concepts (NPV, IRR, cost of capital) * Strong spreadsheet skills, word processing, and presentation software skills * Ability to organize and interpret financial information and present analytical results in manner appropriate for senior management decision-making (both orally and in writing, in memos or presentation format) * Strong accounting skills, particularly in analyzing financial statements * Ability to manage multiple projects, and work both independently and as part of a team * Excellent interpersonal skills; able to maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers * Ability to work effectively in a collaborative work environment * Strong desire to work on teams as the junior member is critical * Exceptional communication skills, creating an environment allowing timely information flows throughout the organization Education and Professional Certification * Baccalaureate degree in Finance, Accounting or related discipline required * Working towards MBA with a concentration in Finance/Accounting, strongly preferred but not required LOCATION * This position will be based at Corporate Headquarters.
