Freddie Mac's Finance division is currently seeking a Capital Planning & Analysis Senior to be a part of the Risk and Finance Strategic Operations ('RFSO') team within the CFO organization. RFSO is responsible for the operational needs of Finance & Risk with an emphasis on reporting, forecasting, and enterprise risk and return analysis. The candidate will work on issues of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends. The candidate will play a key role of supporting the conservatorship capital reporting, planning and financial management function. This includes detailed Capital and Financial Statement analyses, working on extensive industry and other ad hoc financial analyses, and quarterly Board and other management level presentations on highly visible topics.

Your Work Falls Into Four Primary Categories:

Support & Partnership
  • Interact with primarily internal and some external stakeholders
  • Facilitate weekly status meetings and quarterly report review and approval meetings with segments, including business area CFOs and EROs
  • Aggregate capital results by business segments and prepare quarterly reporting of firm-wide capital results with analysis of capital change
  • Support the 10Q/K and CCF disclosure process

Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare TOH (Top-of-House) templates and DTA's (Deferred Tax Asset) related capital allocation
  • Consolidate the final Conservatorship Capital Framework ('CCF') quarterly reporting templates from the various business units and submit to FHFA
  • Review internal audit and compliance related BWise entries to ensure compliance with Capital Policy / Standards
  • Provide governance oversight by ensuring CCF related artifacts and documentation (CCF Standards and directives from FHFA, Assumption files, Final CCF quarterly reporting packages, CCF change log, Governance documents, Risks & Issues, Weekly Status dashboards) are updated and stored on the CCF SharePoint site

Strategy Development and Implementation
  • Perform comparison analyses on major capital frameworks such as Basel III, Federal Reserve Board Rule on Basel III Implementation in the United States and CCF
  • Updating the Cost of Equity Capital and ROE methodologies and documentation around the Risk Adjusted Return Policy and Model Risk

Policy / Standards
  • Review trends and relationships of capital to support Corporate Forecasting and Strategy sessions


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • At least 5 years of financial reporting and analytics work experience
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP financial accounting and reporting concepts
  • Strong financial aptitude and robust analytical skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills, especially Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Skills

Preferred Skills
  • Concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Statistics preferred
  • MBA, CFA, CPA, or other related certification
  • Knowledge of the secondary mortgage market, Freddie Mac's business practices, and the Conservatorship Capital Framework
  • Experience with corporate finance, financial planning and analysis, and financial reporting
  • Knowledge of database and system concepts including Hyperion/Essbase, Tableau, SQL and SAS
