Retention Specialist/Case Manager (Spanish)

Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, the Retention Specialist/Case Manager will provide case management services to students with a focus on retention and assisting students in completing their academic program. The Retention Specialist/Case Manager will provide support to students in various stages of their academic program to ensure they have the tools and resources necessary to reach their employment goals. In addition, the Retention Specialist/Case Manager will work closely with other Student Services staff to collect, track and report data as mandated by the School’s accountability protocol.

Responsibilities:

  •  Performs student intake interviews, refers students to the appropriate internal/external resources, follows up with the student as to the status of their case, and maintains accurate case management files detailing services received by students.
  •  Supports and coordinates with the Lead Retention Specialist in the preparation of student employment status reports as dictated by the School’s accountability protocol, Performance Management Framework (PMF).
  •  Prioritizes and maintains accurate PMF case management workloads files that include a variety of data as required by the PMF.
  •  Assist the Student Services Team to identify external supportive services available to students and maintains proper documentation of these resources for consultation.
  •  Facilitates Student Government meetings and conducts regular student services department workshops.
  •  Provide interpretation support for students and applicants as needed to support other school departmental functions.
  •  Conduct outreach to community members and school affiliates to represent and promote the School and its services.

Requirements:

  •  Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 years of related experience or an appropriate combination of education and experience.
  •  Experience in case management and community outreach with community connections.
  •  Fluency in Spanish required. (verbal and written)
  •  Demonstrated Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  •  Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  •  Demonstrated research skills.
  •  Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as a member of the team.
  •  Commitment to the philosophy and mission of Carlos Rosario International Public Charter School.

Schedule: This position will be required to work two evening a week and occasional weekends as needed.
