Summary

This position is part of the Information Technology Directorate, Selective Service System. The incumbent will be responsible for leading and overseeing the development and maintenance of systems support efforts of existing and future automated peacetime and mobilization support systems.

Responsibilities

As a Supervisory Information Technology Specialist at the GS-2210-13/14 ,some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Communicating to staff assignments, projects, problems to be solved, actionable events, milestones, and/or program issues under review and deadlines.
  • Lead an IT team in the development, analyzing, and refining of systems requirements and specifications for the IT infrastructure.
  • Develop customer support policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Provide technical assistance regarding communications hardware and software.
  • Conduct risk and vulnerability assessments of planned and installed information systems to identify vulnerabilities risks, and protection needs,
  • Plan and distribute work to staff members to ensure all office constraints, objectives and goals are met.

Qualifications

Only experience and education obtained by the closing date of this announcement will be considered.
To qualify for the GS-2210-13 grade level, you must possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. To be credible, this experience must include work that involves: (1) applying advance IT application software development concepts and techniques (designing, coding, testing, debugging, etc.) in support of the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure; (2) (provide leadership, policy guidance and hands-on support to IT Specialists, and internal and external customers in application software (e.g., planning, analyzing, designing, testing, configuring, etc.) ensuring the availability and integrity of the agency's IT infrastructure; 3) translate functional and infrastructure requirements into technical requirements to be used in logical design or presenting alternative technologies or approaches/prototypes; and (4) provide clients and customers information or assistance with their IT needs through assessments, resolutions or problems, recommending products and services and developing, designing and testing software and hardware. This experience must have equipped the applicant with the particular qualifications to perform successfully the duties of the position, and must typically be in or related to the position to be filled.
