Responsibilities

  • You will perform system requirements necessary to operate and maintain all Command and Control Messaging and Communications System located in the Base Station.
  • You will be responsible for numerous C4I systems maintaining uninterrupted operations of T-1 and/or DS-3 circuit paths and Alternate JNOC responsibilities when directed.
  • You will provide training to system users and informs them of proper procedures.
  • You will ensure the operational status of all primary and back-up systems and technical control facility circuits.
  • You will be responsible for all communications Security (COMSEC) material, equipment and associated items.
  • You will maintain control of all elements of systems and recognize errors, alarms and other indications of incorrect operation and perform corrective action.

  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • Must carry a digital pager at all times and return to duty within 1 hour of receipt of notification.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Operating and maintaining multi-functional secure messaging and communications systems software, messaging format, radio telephone, red and black telephones, command and nationwide pages system and various cryptographic and secure facsimile equipment.

This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
