Appointments & Faculty Analyst - Office of Academic Appointments

The Appointments & Faculty Analyst acts as an expert in faculty HR and compensation processing and data for all Main Campus faculty, including tenure-line, full-time non-tenure line, and part-time (adjunct) faculty. S/he ensures accuracy in the HR system data, with responsibility for faculty HR and compensation records and personnel information. The incumbent plays a critical role in adjunct union reporting and producing custom reports requested by campus academic leaders (subsequently referred to as ' ad-hoc ' reports), assisting with the design and planning of efficient methods for managing faculty data-focused project work. Reporting to the Director of the Academic Appointments Office, the Appointments and Faculty Analyst has additional duties that include but are not limited to:

Appointment Processing
  • Enters into GMS/Workday all HR, compensation, and academic appointments on the Main Campus.
  • Conducts leave and probationary period tracking in GMS.
  • Assists with preparing the Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB) by loading files for appointments, compensation, and merit.


Faculty Reporting and Projects
  • Analyzes data, and prepares ad hoc and ot required reports related to faculty appointments, compensation, and leaves as requested by Main Campus leadership (provost & vice provost, deans, MCEF chair, Faculty Senate chair, and Task Forces).
  • Works collaboratively with other units in the Office of the Provost, including OADS and Financial and Business Services, to analyze data, generate required reports, and ensure accuracy.
  • Assists with SEIU-500 union reports and monitors orate with the GMS Core Team and others on campus to develop, design, and implement complex reports and new tools, streamlining faculty affairs/faculty payroll business operations.


Project Support
  • Provides support for special projects.
  • Collaborates with partner offices on campus (Office of the President, UIS, benefits, Schools) on time sensitive projects.


Data Accuracy & Records Maintenance
  • Performs regular audits of assigned academic units or schools to ensure faculty data is accurate and corrections are made.
  • Works with current business process stakeholders such as Schools, Finance Office, GMS Core Team, and GU-Pass technical team to identify ways to improve efficiency and accuracy in faculty data business processes.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with a solid understanding of data and statistical analysis
  • Knowledge of HR and Faculty Affairs issues and work
  • Understanding and high level of comfort working in various software and database systems, including Microsoft Excel and Workday


Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with HR and compensation analysis a plus
  • Experience designing reports (in Workday or other systems) and working in Cognos and Access
  • Exposure to/experience with statistical packages
