Freddie Mac's Finance division is currently seeking a Risk and Performance Analytics Senior to be part of the Investments and Capital Markets CFO department. The Investments and Capital Markets CFO department is responsible for financial accounting and reporting, hedge accounting, portfolio risk and profitability analysis, pricing and valuation activities, and financial planning & analysis for Freddie Mac's Investments segment. The hired individual will be responsible for developing insightful analysis and reporting on the risk, performance, and activity of Freddie Mac's Retained Portfolio.

Your work falls into the following two categories:

  • Interacting with portfolio managers within the Investments and Capital Markets division on portfolio activities, market conditions, and results
  • Analyzing and explaining Mortgage-Related Assets (e.g. Agency MBS, CMOs, and Unsecuritized Single-Family Loans) profitability, intrinsic value, return on equity and shareholder value added
  • Analyzing daily P&L and volume on Single-Family Loan Pipeline business
  • Analyzing and reporting on the fair value of financial instruments daily
  • Analyzing new and existing retained portfolio activities and investment strategies
  • Analyzing the sensitivity of financial results to interest-rate and spread changes and other market factors

  • Preparing portfolio and financial forecasts
  • Preparing analysis and reporting on portfolio activity and profitability
  • Preparing presentations delivered to senior management and the Board of Directors


  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in fixed income, financial services, and/or financial analysis
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, Microsoft PowerPoint and the aptitude to learn other software
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong attention to detail
