Freddie Mac's Customer Compliance Management (CCM) department in the Multifamily Division is currently seeking a Counterparty Credit Risk Manager. The hired candidate will assist the department in supervising the management of credit risks from business transacted with financial institutions, mortgage banks, and other entities in the Multifamily Housing sector.

Your Work Will Fall Into Two Primary Categories:

Institutional Credit Analysis and Surveillance
  • Leading a staff of 4 credit analysts in the management of credit risk associated with a portfolio of approximately 100 counterparties.
  • Managing the evaluation process for determining counterparty creditworthiness and assigning internal risk ratings and exposure limits
  • Working on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of mortgage industry trends, counterparty business strategy, and financial performance
  • Overseeing the surveillance of news media for counterparty developments and monitoring of counterparty internal risk ratings and related risk exposure against assigned limits for escalation to management

Reporting
  • Leading the development of the department's infrastructure for managing and reporting counterparty credit risk and generating routine reports for distribution to key stakeholders
  • Recommending risk mitigating actions within policy guidelines as necessary
  • Drafting and updating departmental procedures for review and approval by management


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Typically has at least 10 years of experience analyzing financial service institutions, including banks, REITs, insurance companies and mortgage bankers
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of financial statements
  • Advanced MS Office Suite skills and experience, with an emphasis on Excel and Tableau
