This position is located with the Small Business Administration, Office of Capital Access, Office of Financial Assistance, 7(a) Loan Division located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct and oversee the activities of the 7(a) loan program.
  • Plan, develop, and implement strategies for outreach and training activities.
  • Develop and recommend Agency wide policies and procedures which govern SBA's 7(a) loan program.
  • Develop and recommend the issuance of SOPs, policy statements, interim regulations etc. governing the Agency's loan programs.
  • Develop training material.
  • Supervise employees regarding the completion of assignments in attainment of the goals set for the 7(a) loan program.
  • Guide employees with knowledge of information relevant to the 7(a) loan program.
  • Motivate employees and recommend changes that maximize the goals of the 7(a) loan program.

Qualifications

For the GS-15 : You must have at least one-year (12-months) of specialized work experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sector) applying the concepts, principles, theories and practices of financial analysis; reviewing, analyzing and evaluating financial statements of business enterprise; applying working knowledge of underwriting procedures and regulations; reviewing various forms of financial accounting statements, and making determinations on the general health of a business entity.

Merit promotion applicants must meet time-in-grade requirement as defined in 5 CFR 300, Subpart F. One year at the GS-14 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-15 level.

Serve as Supervisory Financial and Loan Specialist to develop innovative approaches to financial program delivery, including improvements to existing rules, regulations and the introduction of pilot programs as appropriate that ensure the 7(a) program serves the SBA mission to support increased diversity in entrepreneurship and small business growth opportunities in all U.S. markets.
    Salary: In almost all cases, pay on a new appointment will be set at the minimum rate (GS-15 step 1, $137,849 Per Year). The Full Performance Level of this position is a GS-15.

SUITABILITY, CLEARANCE & REQUIREMENTS: A background investigation may be required for all new hires. Appointment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication. Failure to successfully meet these requirements will be grounds for termination.
