Responsibilities

As a FORCE PROTECTION PROJECT MANAGER at the GS-0301-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
  • Serves as a national-level expert in the evaluation of network and systems technologies and oversees/provides input into associated research and development (R&D) and T&E efforts.
  • Defends project plans and budgets and recommends redirection or termination of existing activities to ensure that the highest quality of work and highest-priority activities are being achieved.
  • Advises the Program Manager, CXC Division Chief, and senior DTRA leadership on the specifics of operational contingency plans that provide for the transition and integration of network assessment technologies to the warfighter.
  • Develops analytical tools to measure the progress, efficiency, and effectiveness of the program and provides associated recommendations.
  • Enhances decision making by gathering and consolidating in-depth technical and professional analyses of matters that may significantly impact other projects within the program and the Division overall.

  • Must have worked in a U.S. Military/Government environment, preferably in support of intelligence operations or SO.
  • May be required to travel up to 30 percent of duty time in the performance of temporary assignments. May be required to perform duties during non-standard hours and weekends to accommodate the operational needs of the organization.


Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS 13 , if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
  • Planning and execution of realistic scenarios for operational demonstration and testing of capabilities for Combatant Commands and Services
  • Subject matter expert and have practical experience in evaluating threat and developing concepts of operating for the execution of US military operations
  • Have in depth experience with counter proliferation: demonstrated understanding of the development process for Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures that support related technology
  • Expert knowledge of the policies, plans, and objectives for the U.S. Government for countering Weapons of Mass Destruction's
  • Coordinating with multiple external organizations, agencies, and international partners
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.

Other Notes:

This is an Acquisition Workforce position in the Program Management career field. The incumbent is required to become certified, Level II in the applicable career field within 24 months, unless a position requirements waiver is approved to extend the 24 months. The incumbent must obtain a minimum of 80 continuous learning points (CLPs) for every 2 year CLP period, with a goal of at least 40 annually.
