Summary

This position is located in the Multi-Door Dispute Resolution Division of the District of Columbia Superior Court. The Civil Quality Assurance Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Program Officer is responsible for the program quality review of all case management related work for branch staff as well as managing the mediator term review process. The incumbent will also serve as the subject matter expert on the Court's case management system.

Responsibilities

Brief Description of Duties
  • Reviews all completed case management work of branch staff for adherence to time standards, accuracy, and guidelines
  • Conducts quality review of cases forwarded to Multi-Door Division for mediation
  • Oversees administration and daily operations of one or more Civil ADR Mediation Programs including case management functions
  • Manages the mediator term review process, compiling necessary information and documentation needed to write the review
  • Enters, monitors and reviews accuracy of case data in new case management system and captures case documentation
  • Develops and analyzes statistical and narrative information on program operations and case work for periodic reports
  • Effectively communicates with outside agencies, judiciary, court staff, attorneys, and clients to support program operations
  • Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures for quality review process
  • Supervises assigned staff

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED plus seven (7) years of case management experience including coordinating, managing and tracking cases in a court, legal, or social service agency, with three (3) of those years focusing on mediation or mediation training. Acceptable mediation experience includes mediation provided through court-based Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) programs, community mediation centers, government agencies, or private practice.

    One (1) year of supervisory experience or successful completion of the DC Courts Management Training Program is required.

    Experience utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and database systems for tracking, retrieving data, analyzing and reporting purposes is preferred.

    Education Substitution:

    Associate's degree in business, management, public administration, criminal justice, social work or a related field with five (5) years of case management experience including coordinating, managing and/or tracking cases in a court, legal, or social service agency, with three (3) of those years focusing on mediation or mediation training.

    Bachelor's degree in business, management, public administration, criminal justice, social work or a related field with three (3) years of case management experience including coordinating, managing and/or tracking cases in a court, legal, or social service agency focusing on mediation or mediation training.

    Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts are required. If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted.

    Education

    Foreign Education: Education completed outside the United States must have been evaluated by a private U.S. organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign educational credentials, commonly called a credential evaluation service, for education to meet the above requirements.

    Please note there is a mandatory one year probationary period for all non-judicial new employees.
