Summary

You will serve as a TECHNICIAN in the DATA SCIENCE AND ANALYTICS of NIWC, CHARLESTON, SC.

NOTE: The salary range includes 15.91% locality pay established for this geographic location.

Responsibilities

  • You will apply Signals Intelligence knowledge and principles to guide and influence engineering decisions.
  • You will perform shipboard installation of complex electronics systems.
  • You will read and develop system installation drawings to include but not be limited to: BWD, cable run sheets, arrangements, power, structural and antenna location.
  • You will provide direct on-site supervision to organize and de-conflict install and de-install efforts between multiple organizations.
  • You will work with multiple government and contractor organizations to ensure successful installations.

  • This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). You must be certified as a Career Field Program Management Level 2. Certification is required within 24 months of appointment.
  • You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.


Qualifications

NO-05 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Planning and scheduling complex electronic systems upgrades and modifications and installation; and serving as a technical advisor on the functional requirements, costs and operational data related to the assigned systems..

NO-04 - Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the
Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications; identifying and correcting deficiencies; and performing work on critical units or subunits

This position is in the Science & Technology Reinvention Laboratory (STRL) Human Resource Management System pay band for Department of Defense laboratories.

The pay schedule and pay band for all Technical/Technician Positions will be NR-1/2/3/4/5.

Generally, current Federal employees applying for STRL jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. All qualifications and pay band requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement and clearly documented in your resume.
