Summary

This position is located in the Inspection Division, Office of Professional Responsibility and Security Operations (OPRSO) in Washington, DC. The Division is responsible for financial, program and management integrity of the Bureau, ensuring compliance with Bureau and Departmental rules and regulations and facilitating improvement of performance by providing independent and evaluative oversight of all administrative and operational activities of field divisions and Headquarters offices.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in fair, accurate and impartial inspections of Bureau offices, programs and activities.
  • Determines overall responsiveness to duties and responsibilities as outlined in Bureau directives.
  • Develops criteria for measuring and evaluating the effectiveness of Bureau administrative and operational programs and activities.
  • Applies statistical analyses to test results in order to identify averages, trends and areas of concentration that support conclusions and recommendations.
  • Conducts special inquiries/reviews of areas of risk as identified and approved by ATF Executive Management.
  • Prepares and presents briefings on results of studies and analyses to Bureau executives.
  • Responsibilities will increase and assignments will become more complex as your training and experience progresses.

MOBILITY PLAN : New employees hired pursuant to this vacancy announcement must sign a mobility agreement. Qualifications

To qualify for the GS-13: You must have at least one year of specialized experience at, or equivalent to, the GS-12 Federal grade level. Specialized experience for the position is defined as: Experience reviewing and analyzing various inspection investigative and regulatory case information data, employee surveys, initiating detailed reports, conducting complex studies, analyses and evaluations of the administrative and operational functions and activities of offices; identifying areas of risk, threat or non-compliance deficiencies and developing recommendations for improved operational efficiency and effectiveness.

Interagency Career Transition Assistance Plan (ICTAP). The ICTAP provides eligible displaced Federal competitive service employees with selection priority over other candidates for competitive service vacancies.
