Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and program leadership in the use of prototyping of new systems for information management applications.
  • Conceive plans and develops new and improved concepts in the area of computer security for applications in the information management area.
  • Initiate reviews and coordinates research and development efforts in information technology areas that have significant impact on users? operational needs.
  • Conduct quick reaction studies as tasked to provide advice concerning information technology to support decision-making by senior DoD and DISA officials.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement:

Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. Specialized Experience:

For the GS-15, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-14 if outside the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as experience providing systems analysis support in the planning and design of software applications, network services, cloud security and virtualized/cloud environments.

  • This is a Critical Acquisition Position (CAP). Selectee must be a member of the DoD Acquisition Corps or eligible for Acquisition Corps membership at the time of the appointment in accordance with the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and DoD 5000.66.
  • This is a DISA acquisition workforce DAWIA position in the Engineering career field. Selectee must be level III certified (or eligible for certification within 24 months of appointment) in the Engineering career field.
  • Selectee must execute, as a condition of appointment, a written agreement to remain in the Federal service in this position for at least 3 years. In signing such agreement, the employee does not forfeit any employment rights, nor does such agreement alter any other terms or conditions of employment.
  • DAWIA certification is a condition of employment. Failure to fulfill the certification requirement may lead to a non-disciplinary adverse action, which can include dismissal.
