Responsibilities

  • You will collect and maintain data needed to meet system IA reporting requirements.
  • You will apply knowledge of the Cyber Security policy, procedures, and structure to develop, implement, and maintain a secure computing environment.
  • You will participate in Cyber Security inspections, tests, and reviews.
  • You will assist in the development of long-range plan for cyber security sustainment.

  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area CSCS CSWF Security Baseline level I within 6 months of appointment.


Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Evaluating cyber security operations to ensure compliance with system security configuration guidelines; 2) Collecting data to meet system cyber security reporting requirements; 3) Resolving cyber security issues by identifying alternative solutions to various problems; 4) Providing advice to personnel on cyber security regulations, policies, procedures and programs; and 5) Provide input in drafting cyber security documentation (e.g., systems security plans, risk assessments, disaster recovery plans, business continuity plans, and/or user security guides.

This announcement uses the Cyber Workforce direct hire authority to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the cyber workforce.

Several vacancies may be filled.

A forty hour work week is typical for this position.

Recruitment incentives may be authorized to eligible new hires.

A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation
incentive may be authorized.

This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The work is sedentary. Some work may require walking, standing, stooping, crawling,and bending in some areas. Employee is required to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds for the purpose of relocating/moving computer equipment; requests assistance from co-workers when working with heavier items. Follows established safety rules.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is primarily performed in an office setting where the work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated. Location is generally fixed; ten percent travel may be required.

A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if the selectee fails to meet the pre-employment requirements, including failure to report to any of the scheduled appointments.
