Summary

Responsibilities

  • Receives cash or credit cards in payment for merchandise, registration or services such as equipment checkout and gives change as required. Maintains record of sales.
  • At the end of shift, turns in sales records, money, customer checks or charge slip and accounts for all moneys and transactions.
  • Provides information concerning availability of goods sold, prices, and condition of merchandise.
  • Keeps records of customer traffic during the day, and identifies slow or fast moving items and trends in customer comments or complaints.
  • May prepare requisitions for items sold; insures that proper stock levels are maintained; secures stock at close of business. Cleans counter or serving area.
  • Assists with conducting inventories.

  • NSA Requirements: Incumbent must be able to obtain and maintain access to National Security Agency facilities and networks. Incumbent may be subject to polygraph testing and must meet NSA personnel security requirements as outlined in NSA/CSS Policy.
  • Appointment is subject to successful completion and ability to maintain a favorable Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) and/or polygraph examination to determine suitability for this position.
  • Appointment is subject to successful completion and favorable results of fingerprints, health assessment (physical), and Installation Record Checks to determine suitability for this position.
  • Physical Requirement: Incumbent must be able to lift up to twenty (20) pounds so shelves remain stocked and unload boxes containing weekly merchandise needed to keep the convenience store running smoothly.
  • Test Designated Position: In accordance with NSA Policy and Executive Order 12564 this position is subject to random drug testing as a condition of employment.
  • Training Requirement: Annually, incumbent must complete mandatory government/job related training's.


Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide at level necessary to complete required reports.

Highly Preferred:
Possess six (6) months work experience as a cashier in a retail environment. (Examples: Convenience store, gift shop, or similar)
