We are seeking a skilled general finance manager who is adept at aligning financial processes with business strategy. The role is highly collaborative, working directly with members of the executive leadership team to address budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, and across all MLT teams to promote full transparency, revenue and expense understanding, and the alignment of finances to overall strategy. A critical aspect of the role is to provide leverage for MLT leaders: you are a quick learner who grasps core issues, provides meaningful insight and acute analysis, and digs in to engage line staff and help them understand and act on financial issues.. This position is located in our Bethesda, Maryland office and reports to our Vice President, Finance and Operations.. Key Responsibilities. Understand the critical components of MLTs business model and work with senior leadership to drive the annual budgeting and on-going reforecasting processes, providing visibility into cash flow, expense management, and growth.. Perform clear, concise, rigorous analysis and provide strong financial and business decision support on numerous revenue and marketing initiatives, return on investment analyses, or other assigned projects.. Develop cost models that analyze expenses and make compelling cases for specific actions.. Closely monitor revenue renewals and related cash flow streams to anticipate MLTs position relative to targets; actively communicate status and work with program leaders to ensure timely and effective action is taken.. Ensure that MLT financial procedures are comprehensive and compliant, and support current program activities and future program growth.. Collaborate across the Finance and Marketing teams to produce an MLT annual report, telling the organizations financial story through visual imagery that both educates and strengthens the MLT brand.. Support the CEO/Founder and VP, Finance & Operations to produce annual board and ad hoc fundraising presentations.. Act as a resource for the Accounting function, providing guidance and direction when needed, assisting with the audit requirements, collaborating with staff, and engaging in other ad hoc opportunities.. Other duties as required. Qualifications. Bachelors degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting.. 8+ years of professional experience, with a foundation in / profile of cost accounting and a minimum of 3 years of direct FP&A responsibility.. Strong communication skills with the demonstrated ability to engage with team leaders to understand business models and attendant opportunities for analysis and recommendations.. Strong problem solving and process orientation - without over-engineering or becoming mired in detail - with the demonstrated ability to incorporate information technology systems and tools (Google Sheets, Excel, etc.) for efficiency and accuracy.. Acute organization skills and strategic focus, with an exceptional attention to detail and sound business judgment.. Strong relationship management skills, and the ability to negotiate / persuade for results with staff at all levels.. Demonstrated tolerance for ambiguity; a fluid, dynamic thinker with the ability to process information in real time and adjust / move forward as necessary.
