Benefits Analyst An Overview The Benefits Analyst will have the opportunity to contribute to a wide variety of complex activities involving the administration of employee benefits programs in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. The Benefits Analyst analyzes current plans and makes recommendations for process improvements and serves as a key resource for a variety of stakeholders on matters related to employee benefits. The Opportunity Provides excellent customer service with day-to-day administration and operation of the benefits programs to include providing sound advice and problem resolution for employees, retirees and others; Updates, coordinates and analyzes changes of data in the HRIS benefits system, Employee Self Service, Open Enrollment period, ongoing eligibility files and collaborates with the technology team to implement improvements; Performs health and welfare plan expense reconciliations in partnership with finance/payroll department; Manages benefits related projects which may include complex data and cost analysis; Provides contract/vendor management to include collaboration on RFPs, establishing competitive criteria, evaluating proposals, negotiating contracts and ensuring legal compliance of all plans; Researches and benchmarks best practices; Creates communication materials, and; Performs other related duties as required. The Ideal Candidate To qualify for this position, all candidates should possess at least a Bachelor's degree; five years of progressively-responsible human resources experience in benefits administration; five years of experience in Federal, State and City laws, ordinances, rules and regulations pertaining to human resource management; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
