Job Summary

Westat is seeking a statistician with experience in data analysis, statistical modeling and R programming. Strong computation skills are required and experience with a diversity of statistical environments (including, but not limited to R, SAS, Python or Stan/Jags) is highly valuable. M ethodological areas include, but are not limited to, generalized linear models, longitudinal data analysis, survival analysis, hierarchical/mixed-effects models, and causal inference with observational data.

Job Responsibilities:

· Prepare and clean data for statistical purposes; perform statistical analyses and modeling tasks in R.

· Summarize statistical analyses, often with survey data, using tables or data visualizations.

· Prepare deliverables, such as reproducible reports and custom dashboards .

· Provide technical support for report automation.

· Participate in the application of new data science methods.

Basic Qualifications:

· A Master's degree in Statistics, Data Science, or related field with course work in statistical analysis and modeling, or a Master's in a quantitative field plus equivalent work experience in statistical analyses and modeling.

· Candidates must have R programming experience and a practical knowledge of SQL.



Preferred Qualifications:

· Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.

· Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate with non-statisticians.

Qualified candidates must have the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Candidates will benefit from experience in SAS, with version control using git, and experience in the analysis of complex survey data.
