Founded in 2014, New Frontier Data is headquartered in Washington, DC The DevOps Engineer/Linux Systems Administrator will: * Primarily be responsible for managing, monitoring and automating operations of a high-availability, high-scalability server infrastructure, performing in-depth performance tuning, as well as hardware troubleshooting and maintenance when necessary* Manage cloud servers while optimizing costs, optimize network, disk space, RAM, etc. in relation with our cloud provider* Maintain and update the corporate website (WordPress/WooCommerce) instances with a detailed attention to security policies and integration with different APIs (with external [PayPal, Stripe, Mandrill] and internal products [Equio])* Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems including office 365 suite (Active Directory, Emails/Exchange, Office, OneDrive, SharePoint).* Develop and support the integration, automation and testing of hardware, software, subsystems, and systems in a test environment* Collaborate with engineers, project managers, users, and company stakeholders to determine system architecture modifications to adapt to the business needs* Ensure system architecture integrity by evaluating data partnerships and maintaining software and hardware solutions* Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use and maintenance of computing resources* Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system; including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management* Create and maintain administrator and user accounts, maintain system documentation, tune system performance, install system wide software and allocate mass storage space, provide backup and recovery processes*Be the point of contact and administrator for support with A Office 365, and other Company cloud tools. Qualifications:* 3-5 years' relevant experience as a DevOps engineer or an enterprise Linux system administrator with experience in big data systems and a proven ability to troubleshoot complex environments*3-5 years' relevant experience with AWS arcitecture and infrastructure * Experience installing, configuring, patching, IA/Security hardening and tuning enterprise-level variants of Linux systems (CentOS & Debian)* Fluency in administering Apache and/or Nginx web-servers* Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS, Rackspace, Openstack, etc.* MySQL administration and troubleshooting experience* Demonstrated understanding of and experience with virtualization technologies, including VMware and GPU-based applications within a virtualized environment* Ability to learn fast and figure things out independently; strong troubleshooting skills Required Skillsets:* Experience with VPN.
