Key responsibilities of the Entry Level Accountant include but are not limited to: - Perform overall day-to-day management of the general ledger to ensure account balances are accurate by preparing weekly, monthly, and as needed detailed schedules and preparing and entering reconciling journal entries - Complete monthly reconciliations for all organization bank accounts, ensuring that all items are resolved on a timely basis - Execute month-end closing schedule providing agency and department-level reporting - Perform account analysis - Provide audit support including preparation of schedules, analyses, and documents for timely completion of annual external audit and governmental/funder audits - Research outstanding checks over 90 days and work in coordination with the Accounts Payable manager to resolve - Maintain organization fixed assets and prepaid expenses scheduleWho You Are - Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting and/or have foundational knowledge of accounting software and of fund accounting (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Reporting, and uniform guidance) - Have exceptional attention to detail and ensure your work is consistent, accurate, and thoroughly documented - Are skilled in navigating technology tools such as Excel and Google Suite, and have to ability to learn necessary tools such as Salesforce, Kronos, and ADP Payroll System - Are a critical thinker, analyzing problems and asking questions to evaluate issues and avoid premature conclusions; you take opportunities to improve systems - Demonstrate respect, fairness, patience, and efficiency to participants, employees, and others through collaborative problem-solving, while proactively anticipating and addressing problems and working to meet the needs of your customers - Able to build rapport with persons inside and outside of CEO through interpersonal understanding - Are results-oriented and dedicated to achieving personal, team, and organizational goals through time management, data analysis, focused communication and teamwork, and continuous learning - Work well under pressure and have the ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful conditions - Very organized individual, following a systematic method of prioritizing, completing and documenting work For more information on this and other fulltime accounting and finance opportunities across the DC metro area, please contact Joe Anthony (Finance Accounting) at Robert Half on 301-656-7121 or email in the strictest confidence to [Click Here to Email Your Resum?]Robert Half Finance & Accounting, the world's leader in specialized financial staffing, provides exciting full-time opportunities in the areas of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, audit, taxation and more.
