Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world?s leading global law firms with over 4,000 lawyers and staff in 31 offices, is seeking a Legal Practice Assistant for the Immigration Team in our Labor & Employment Practice Group, reporting to the Regional Paralegal Manager. This position will reside in the Washington, DC office and will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to the Practice Group in an environment where superior client service is emphasized. This position is designed to provide the experience, connections and continuous learning to fast track your career, with an opportunity to develop client relationships, routinely engage with Practice Group attorneys and legal professionals, and gain significant analytical and project management skills.Key responsibilities of this position:Assist Attorneys, Case Managers, Paralegals and Regional Paralegal Manager with preparation and filing of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications for foreign nationals with government agencies.Communicate with foreign nationals and company contacts to gather information and documents required for preparation of nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions and applications.Assist with compilation, drafting, proofreading, editing, and organizing documents and information for filing nonimmigrant and immigrant visa petitions/applications.Enter and maintain data in the department?s case management systems.Organize and maintain immigration files.Collaborate with Regional Paralegal Manager to manage caseload from intake to filing of cases.Keep clients informed about the progress of their cases and prepare case status reports.Assist Paralegals, Case Managers and Attorneys with preparation and filing of responses to requests for additional evidence received from USCIS.Attend firm/team group meetings and events.Attend continuing education programs/seminars.Provide administrative support as needed.Assist Immigration Operations Manager with special projects.Experience/Qualifications:Bachelor?s Degree required;One (1) year of internship or professional experience preferred; immigration experience a plus.Independent, self-starting, and self-motivated.Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must.Exceptional organization skills.Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and PowerPoint.Experience with LawLogix and/or INSZoom case management systems a plus.Flexibility to work overtime as needed.Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP is committed to equal employment opportunity and providing reasonable accommodations to applicants with physical and/or mental disabilities.
