Job DescriptionJOB TITLE: Maintenance LeadREPORTING TO: HarbormasterFLSA: Non-ExemptDATE: 7/9/2019SummaryThe Maintenance Lead is responsible for providing oversight and direction to the Port's marina attendants staff and management of all Port facilities maintenance. This position manages preventative maintenance across the Port's grounds, marina and offices, and provides project management of capital improvement projects. This role requires comprehensive experience in a variety of yard and building maintenance.Essential Functions? Lead the safe and efficient daily on-site management of marina operations maintenance for all property grounds, marina office, and fuel dock.? Direct and work with marina attendants in maintenance schedules and safety inspections.? Assess capital improvement projects scope of work and partner with Harbormaster on engagement with third-party vendors for cost estimates.? Manage repairs, alterations, and improvements to the marina, to include minor electrical, mechanical and plumbing work.? Maintain all Port equipment including cleaning, ensuring proper fluid levels and replacing parts.? Maintain proper fuel inventory levels and supplies for fuel dock. Ensure all fuel pump out stations are maintained in working order as required by regulating authorities.? Document repairs, replacement and other performed maintenance. Complete and maintain all applicable required records, including safety reports and hazardous materials.? Manage project scheduling, task assignment and follow-up to completion of work on-time and within budget.? Maintain building exteriors and grounds and manage grounds keeping and park/restroom facilities.? Perform safety and emergency service duties.? Assist in conducting safety and regulatory compliance training.Education and Experience? Five or more years' experience in facilities management in a maritime environment required ? Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or combination of trade school certifications and experience? Knowledge of facilities, equipment and grounds maintenance; marine related facilities andmaintenance experience a plus. Familiar with carpentry, electrical, water, and gas systemsand mechanical motor and hydraulic equipment.? Maintain Fuel Training Certification Level IV? Maintain OSHA and HAZMAT certification(s) and have CPR/First Aid training? Knowledge of facilities management principles and practices is preferred? Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.? Possess a valid Washington Driver's License with an acceptable driving record. Commerciallicense desirable.Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesCommunication. You maintain a high level of integrity, confidentiality and dependability.Additional RequirementsThe Port offers office and outdoor work environments. This role works in both office and outdoorenvironment year-round and in all weather conditions (rain, snow, and extreme heat or cold).This role works on docks, waterfronts and moorage facilities and on surfaces that may beunbalanced, slippery, moving, inclined and at varying heights above deep water.This role will be required to sit, stand, walk, reach, bend, kneel, climb, drive, lift and/or move upto 100 pounds throughout the work day. This role will also require seeing up close, at a distanceand in color, peripheral vision and depth perception and hear warnings and other audible indications of dangerous conditions.The functions of this role works primarily during the day, but the schedule will not always fit into a regular forty (40) hour schedule and may vary between high boating season (April through October) and the rest of the year. This position must be readily available for urgent situations in off-hours, and on call 24/7.This role must have fire and environmental safety knowledge. This position must participate in Crisis Management trainings. This role should be familiar with emergency procedures for the Port facilities and offices to address boat sinking, fuel spills, accidents, fire and/or thefts.This role must operate a variety of tools and equipment, vehicles and boats required for Marina operations competently and safely.
