Position DescriptionThe Enterprise Monitoring Lead (EML) will manage a team of application monitoring engineers and serve as technical lead for the Enterprise Operations and Management branch. The EML will oversee the deployment, onboarding, managing and O&M of the Enterprise IT infrastructure, system and application health and performance systems. The lead is responsible for the effective and efficient operational support of all monitoring tools used to support the mission. The EML will support the Enterprise Operations Center by providing in-depth health and performance analysis as required. Interact daily with supervisor, and technical staff in all project specialties. Interactions with client counterparts on project matters within area of responsibility. Must work well with general guidance, generate competent technical input for operations type documentation, be detailed and security oriented. Must have excellent oral and written communications skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to deal with multiple contractors and government organizations. Must have worked in large enterprise class type environments, be in line with industry best practices, think outside the box, and be able to make recommendations to improve overall governance and support continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesProvide expert knowledge, support and guidance to business and technology teams and facilitate the collaborative support of system and application performance based software solutions Recommend improvements to enhance information system operational availability, reliability, performance, etc.Assist in the establishment of processes, templates, knowledge base articles and tools required to support the Enterprise Operations Center (EOC) Maintain relevant service delivery catalogs and associated baselinesProvide expertise in business process and analytical modeling concepts, techniques, and toolsManage, track, report, process and assign tasks within the team Qualifications:Required Skills8-10 years of experience with a Bachelors in Computer Science or related field In lieu of degree, a combination of education and 15 years of demonstrated hands on experience6-8 full-time years of progressive experience in an enterprise setting (5000+ CI's)5 full-time years as Team Lead for enterprise health & performance monitoringExtensive infrastructure and application support experienceExcellent oral and written communication skills requiredAbility to support executive management incident debriefs and root cause analysis reportsBe a customer advocate by consistently meeting, exceeding expectations and incorporating customer service into all aspects of workProvide brown-bag, training sessions, coach, mentor and train staffPreferred SkillsITIL v3 certification and/or formal training in ITIL/ITSM preferred, along with equivalent work experienceSolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP - NPM/SAM)One or more Splunk certifications: Power User, Admin, Architect or DeveloperAny Microsoft, Red Hat or Amazon certifications are a plusAny SEIM, MoM, System & Network Management certifications highly encouragedComfortable in a fast paced work environmentHands-on-ExposureAdvanced knowledge and usage of SolarWinds, AppDynamics, Splunk Maintain and administer enterprise services, security protection mechanisms, automation scripts or system maintenance/monitoring automation to improve uptime and reduce supportDemonstrated knowledge of Amazon Web Services (Public and GovCloud)Demonstrated experience with virtualization platforms (eg VMware, Hyper-V, OpenShift & Oracle)Knowledge of government security policies and general vulnerabilities managementMulti-platform scripting abilities (eg PowerShell, Bash, Python, etc.)Hands on experience with tools like Ansible, Puppet or other similar CM type tools are a plusOrganizational SkillsSoft Skills and Abilities: Can plan and prioritize work, both their own and that of project teamFollows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standardGood attention to detailTeam WorkComfortable working both individually and as part of a team.Prepared to challenge ideas within a group in a constructive wayAbility to influence others and move a proposal effort toward a common vision or goalCommunicationsAbility to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writingAble to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and contextExcellent active listening skillsStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of personnel, elected officials, executive leadership, senior management, users, vendors and subcontractor personnelProblem SolvingNatural inclination for planning strategy and tacticsAbility to analyze problems and determine root cause, generating alternatives, evaluating and selecting alternatives and implementing solutionsResults OrientedAble to drive things forward regardless of personal interest in the taskSecurity RequirementsCandidate must be a US Citizen and able to pass a Public Trust AssessmentPlace of Performance: Base Shift hours: 8:00 AM ET - 5:00 PM ET, M-F (flexibility is required)Must be available for on-call support as required
