SUMMARY The Senior Consulting Engineer is responsible for helping customers solve complex reliability and durability challenges for board-level electronic circuits and assemblies. RESPONSIBILITIES ? Credibly and professionally execute consulting projects that are sold, as defined in Statement of Work, resulting in high customer satisfaction and delivering value to our customers ? Use ANSYS software tools to simulate the behavior of electronic circuits in support of worst-case circuit analyses, EMI/EMC assessments, power dissipation calculations, design reviews, and failure analyses. ? Plan, conduct, and analyze the results of electrical tests or failure analyses designed to assess the reliability of electronic systems used in severe operational environments ? Review customer designs and identify areas of potential reliability or durability risk ? Serve as the project manager and primary interface for customers on consulting projects. In this role, the Senior Consulting Engineer is expected to set the direction for, and motivate technical teams, contribute to the solution of technical problems, and provide concise written and verbal technical updates and reports for internal and external audiences. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ? Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field ? A minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a role as a Technical Support Engineer, consulting services or related customer-facing activities ? A minimum of 4 years of experience in use of relevant commercial software ? Firm grasp of reliability physics concepts as applied to the analysis of failure mechanisms, reliability, and durability of electronic components and systems ? Excited by applying skills and experience to solve new and novel problems ? Excellent customer interface and team leadership skills ? Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to explain highly technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ? MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or physics with a strong focus on electrical circuit theory, simulation, design, manufacture, or failure analysis of electronic components and systems, including semiconductor devices and power electronics and analysis. ? Experience with design of power and/or analog electronics, ESD/EOS (failure mechanisms, mitigations, test methods), EMI/EMC (failure mechanisms, mitigations, test methods), Signal Integrity/Power Integrity, and/or power semiconductor devices (FETs, Diodes, IGBTs). ? Strong desire to publish and contribute new information the fields of reliability physics and failure analysis of electronics. ? Must have passion and drive for personal technical excellence and high performance ? Must have customer service aptitude and maintain customer focus ?
