Overview Peraton is seeking a Linux / Windows Administrator/Engineer to support our government client in Fairfax, VA. This individual will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting mission critical systems. Analyzing and assessing the current environment and developing solutions to unique problems provide an exciting and challenging opportunity. Responsibilities What you'll do Identify, engineer and propose beneficial upgrades, modifications, and technology insertion Work with the operations team, vendors and other engineers to assess and understand Microsoft and Linux technologies and develop proposed beneficial technical solutions for our customer's environment Manage trouble-ticketing system ensuring accurate and up-to-date information. Install, configure, upgrade, and patch operating systems, network operating systems, system utility software, applications, and third-party software on commonly used operating systems. Configure, and maintain virtual server environment. Develop, implement, and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans for servers. Create and maintain scripts for the automation of server processes. Maintain updated local documentation on all aspects of servers and other equipment. Maintain policies, procedures and tools. Qualifications You'd be a great fit if you have: Bachelor's degree in related area plus four (04) years of experience in Linux Engineering & Administration Red Hat Satellite Server 6 installation and administration experience Four (04) years of experience with Linux OS Four (04)years of experience patching servers, conducting backups, and permission management. It'd be even better if you have: One (01) or more of the following certifications: RHCSA RHCE Knowledge of SAN (eg, Pure Storage, NetApp, FreeNAS). Knowledge of STIGs, C&A, Hardening security practice. Excellent teamwork and communication skills SECURITY CLEARANCE: Must have a current TS/SCI security clearance and be able to maintain the clearance. Having a current Polygraph is strongly preferred.
